A pharmaceutical square with a garden will be created in the Technopolis Moscow SEZ

Construction of a new public space — a pharmaceutical square — has begun in the special economic zone (SEZ) “Technopolis Moscow.” It will combine areas for active and quiet recreation, said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

“On the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, we are creating a modern ecosystem on the industrial sites. Today, fitness centers and gyms are operating in the SEZ ‘Technopolis Moscow,’ and more than a thousand people visit them every day.” Zumba, yoga, and chess classes are also held. The new Pharmaceutical Square will become another point of attraction for both employees of the enterprises and residents of neighboring areas,” said Maxim Liksutov.

In the center of the new space, there will be a garden in the shape of a Petri dish — it alludes to the residents of the special economic zone who are engaged in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. Nearby, a decorative pond will be created, where people can relax. An art object called “Ring” with built‑in LED screens will be installed in the square. For landscaping the area, pines, spruces, rowan trees, and red maples were chosen, as well as shrubs — lilacs, hydrangeas, barberries, junipers, and sage.

The Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2026. Over two decades, the project has transformed from a launchpad for innovative projects into a key hub for domestic industry and a magnet for companies that define Russia’s technological sovereignty. Today, production of more than 240 high‑tech enterprises representing such strategic areas as microelectronics, instrument engineering, biomedicine, IT, and robotics is localized across 10 sites of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, with a total area of 430 hectares.

Moscow is actively developing industrial infrastructure for high‑tech enterprises. Thanks to urban solutions, companies are increasing their output and launching innovative production facilities. This contributes to the implementation of the national project “Effective and Competitive Economy”.
