New recreation areas have appeared at two sites within the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone (SEZ). Art installations have been placed in four locations, and they have already become focal points for employees of high‑tech enterprises. This was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
“On the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, we are developing the infrastructure of the capital’s special economic zone. Today, more than 33,000 specialists work at the SEZ sites, and our task is to make sure they have a pleasant experience on its territory.” That’s why we regularly carry out landscaping and create comfortable, modern recreation areas. For example, recently the territory of the industrial cluster was decorated with new art objects,” said Maxim Liksutov.
Designer swings have become especially popular among the site’s employees. Their design includes LED screens and lighting systems, and flower beds are placed nearby.
In addition, modern fitness centers and gyms operate on the territory of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, and more than a thousand people visit them every day. The Arena PlayTechnopolis sports complex features ice arenas, a football field, a gym, and a choreography hall, as well as courts for padel tennis and squash. Recently, the cultural and educational project “TechnoVernissage” — a mobile gallery of contemporary art where artists present their works — also launched at the sites of the special economic zone.
The SEZ “Technopolis Moscow” will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2026. Over the past two decades, it has transformed from a launchpad for innovative projects into a key hub for domestic industry and a center for companies that define Russia’s technological sovereignty. Today, production of more than 240 high‑tech enterprises representing strategic areas such as microelectronics, instrument engineering, biomedicine, IT, and robotics is localized across 10 sites of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, covering an area of 430 hectares. The number of highly skilled jobs created amounts to 33,000.
Moscow is actively developing social infrastructure in production areas. Thanks to urban solutions, employees of high‑tech enterprises receive not only modern workplaces but also high‑quality public spaces for recreation. This contributes to the development of the national project “Infrastructure for Life”.
