Over 60 athletes from more than 15 resident enterprises of the special economic zone (SEZ) “Technopolis Moscow” took part in a tournament dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the site. The event was held at the House of Russian Billiards. This was announced by Anatoly Garbuzov, Minister of the Moscow Government and head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.
“Today, more than 33,000 people work in the SEZ ‘Technopolis Moscow’. On the instructions of Sergei Sobyanin, we are paying special attention to creating comfortable conditions for the employees of the enterprises. This includes improving the surrounding areas, developing social infrastructure, and holding various events. Every year, more than 200 events are organized for employees — from business‑related to sports‑related ones. As part of the 20th anniversary of the SEZ, a billiards tournament was held, which brought together teams from more than 15 resident companies,” noted Anatoly Garbuzov.
The tournament to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the SEZ “Technopolis Moscow” was held at the House of Russian Billiards.
The event was held in the style of 20th‑century retro‑futurism. An interactive performance based on Isaac Asimov’s work “The Billiard Ball” was organized for the guests. The tournament participants could also take part in an autograph session with Yuri Pashchinsky, the world billiards champion.
Sports and cultural events are regularly held at the Technopolis Moscow SEZ. For example, in June, the open mini‑football championship with the participation of 20 teams started on the site for the fourth year in a row. In addition, employees of the enterprises in the Moscow SEZ can take part in tennis, yoga and zumba classes, and in winter they can use the free outdoor “Technokatki”.
The special economic zone “Technopolis Moscow” is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026. Over the past two decades, the project has transformed from a launchpad for innovative projects into a key hub for domestic industry and a magnet for companies that define Russia’s technological sovereignty. Today, production of more than 240 high‑tech enterprises representing such strategic areas as microelectronics, instrument engineering, biomedicine, IT, and robotics is located across 10 SEZ sites with a total area of 430 hectares.
