Five resident companies of the special economic zone (SEZ) “Technopolis Moscow” hired the first graduates of the College of Electronics and Informatics of the National Research University “Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology” (NIU MIET). The young professionals received diplomas as technicians in the field of microelectronics. This was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

“On the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the city is paying special attention to training personnel for knowledge‑intensive industries, including the field of microelectronics.” The technical college of the flagship university of Moscow’s special economic zone — NIU MIET — is developing a dual‑education format with enterprises in the special economic zone. Students complete internships and get закрепляются in their jobs at resident companies. During their studies, they master up to four professions, which increases their competitiveness in the labour market,” Maxim Liksutov added.

The College of Electronics and Computer Science at NIU MIET opened its doors to graduates of grades 9 and 11 in 2024. Here, they train in‑demand specialists — technicians, assemblers and adjusters of radio‑electronic equipment, assemblers of electronic equipment products, chip assemblers, and operators of solid‑state electronics products, including those involved in precision photolithography and ion processes.

Starting from their first year, students complete internships at key partner enterprises. Among them are the Mikron and Proton factories, the NM‑TECH enterprise, the Electroinvest group of companies, the Elvis research and production center, and the Zelenograd nanotechnology center.

Those who enrolled after the 11th grade can find employment almost immediately. The first graduates are already working as development engineers, process plant operators, 200‑millimeter photolithography operators, operators and adjusters of numerically controlled machining centers, and radio‑electronic equipment assembly fitters.

The Special Economic Zone “Technopolis Moscow” is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026. Over the past two decades, the project has transformed from a launchpad for innovative projects into a key hub for domestic industry and a centre of attraction for companies that define Russia’s technological sovereignty. Today, production of more than 240 high‑tech enterprises representing strategic areas such as microelectronics, instrument engineering, biomedicine, IT and robotics is located across 10 SEZ sites with a total area of 430 hectares. The number of highly qualified jobs created is 33,000.

The capital is developing platforms for high-tech businesses. Thanks to urban solutions, companies receive benefits and create modern jobs. This contributes to the development of the national Cadres project, which aims to train specialists and provide the country's economy with qualified staff.
