Residents of the Moscow special economic zone have increased their tax contributions to the budget by almost 1.5 times

According to the results of the first quarter of 2026, residents of the special economic zone (SEZ) “Technopolis Moscow” transferred over 7.8 billion rubles in taxes to the budget. This is almost 1.5 times more than in the same period last year, said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

“At the request of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the most favorable investment climate has been created for residents of the capital’s special economic zone: tax incentives for profits and property, a free customs zone regime, and assistance with connecting to engineering infrastructure. In response, enterprises are increasing their production capacities, expanding their staff, and launching new products on the market. As a result, in January–March of this year, they transferred over 7.8 billion rubles to the budget, which is 40 % more than in the first quarter of 2025,” noted Maxim Liksutov.

The Moscow budget received approximately 1.3 billion rubles — this is 11% higher than the figures for January–March 2025. Over the entire period of the SEZ’s operation, the total amount of taxes paid by residents exceeded 73.3 billion rubles, of which 22.2 billion were allocated to the city budget.

The largest taxpayers in the first quarter were a manufacturer of elevator equipment, a developer of medicinal products, and a company that produces network equipment for data centers.

The Special Economic Zone “Technopolis Moscow” is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026. Over two decades, the project has transformed from a launchpad for innovative projects into a key hub for domestic industry and a magnet for companies that define Russia’s technological sovereignty. Today, production of more than 240 high‑tech enterprises representing strategic areas such as microelectronics, instrument engineering, biomedicine, IT, and robotics is located across 10 sites of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, with a total area of 430 hectares.

Moscow is actively developing its investment climate and industrial potential. Thanks to urban solutions, labor productivity and production efficiency are increasing. The activities taking place as part of this contribute to the implementation of the national project “Efficient and Competitive Economy”.
