Residents of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ), which produce innovative medicines, invested over 2.7 billion rubles in the city's economy in the first quarter of 2026. This is 1.7 times more than in the same period last year, said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

"On behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, a modern pharmaceutical cluster is being formed in the capital. Industry Development Center — SEZ “Technopolis Moscow”, which already produces modern medicines for the treatment of oncological, cardiological, endocrine, autoimmune and other diseases. In the first quarter of 2026, residents invested more than 2.7 billion rubles. In total, pharmaceutical companies that have localized their facilities in the SEZ have invested almost 66 billion rubles in the city's economy and created about 3.6 thousand jobs," Maxim Liksutov said.

The pharmaceutical company, which is currently conducting clinical trials of a drug against 30 types of oncological diseases, became the leader in terms of investments in January —March 2026. In addition, the resident has developed four biosimilars for the treatment of melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer, colorectal cancer and kidney cancer. The company's investments exceeded 1.5 billion rubles. Another manufacturer, which will produce drugs from blood plasma, has invested more than 400 million rubles.

Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026. Over two decades, the project has grown from a launching pad for innovation to a key hub of the domestic industry. Today, over 240 high-tech enterprises operate on 10 sites of the SEZ with a total area of more than 430 hectares. They are developing microelectronics, instrumentation, biomedicine, IT, and robotics. The number of highly qualified jobs created exceeds 33 thousand.

The capital creates the basis for the technological sovereignty of the country. Thanks to urban solutions and support measures, residents of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ are increasing the production of innovative products and expanding their presence in global markets. This contributes to the implementation of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy".
