Technopolis Moscow SEZ has launched the production of a new form of a drug for kidney treatment

A drug for the treatment of severe forms of chronic kidney disease has been launched in the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ). The medicine is produced in a new form — a sterile solution for intravenous administration. This was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

"On behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the city actively supports pharmaceutical manufacturers. So, with a SEZ resident “Technopolis Moscow, which manufactures drugs for the treatment of kidney diseases, has signed three sales guarantee contracts. The capital's healthcare system will receive the necessary medicines, including those that have not previously been produced in Russia," Maxim Liksutov said.

The drug paricalcitol is a synthetic analogue of the active form of vitamin D. It supports the balance of calcium and phosphorus in patients with chronic kidney disease. In 2025, the R-Oprah company has already launched its production in the form of gelatin capsules. The drug is now available for intravenous administration.

The release of the drug includes a full production cycle at the group's facilities in Russia — from the synthesis of the active pharmaceutical substance to the production of the finished drug. Registration of the drug in a new form will allow for a full range of drug applications in clinical practice. The company plans to modernize by 2030, which will allow it to maintain uninterrupted supplies and quickly expand its product range.

Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026. Over two decades, the project has grown from a launching pad for innovation to a key hub of the domestic industry. Today, over 240 high-tech enterprises operate on 10 sites of the SEZ with a total area of more than 430 hectares. They are developing microelectronics, instrumentation, biomedicine, IT, and robotics. The number of highly qualified jobs created exceeds 33 thousand.

The capital creates the basis for the technological sovereignty of the country. Thanks to urban solutions and support measures, residents of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ are increasing the production of innovative products and expanding their presence in global markets. This contributes to the implementation of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy".
