The Technopolis Moscow SEZ Chess Cup brought together more than 100 participants at the Central House of Chess Players

On May 19, 2026, at the Central House of Chess Players named after The Chess Cup of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone was held on Botvinnik. The event was timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the SEZ

The tournament was attended by representatives of almost 40 resident enterprises, as well as children with an interest in chess. The total number of participants exceeded 115 people.

Grandmaster, world champion in rapid chess and blitz Sergey Karjakin became a special guest of the tournament. He held a blitz match with one of the youngest participants of the competition.
Participants and guests were greeted by Anatoly Garbuzov, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, Minister of the Moscow Government, Gennady Degtev, Director General of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, and Sabina Tsvetkova, Deputy of the Moscow City Duma.

Tournament results:

- Adult tournament:
1st place — Oleg Babichev
2nd place — Andrey Kondratyev
3rd place — Denis Khomich

- Children's tournament:
1st place — Mikhail Shishkin
2nd place — Karina Khanova
3rd place — Anna Orlova

It should be noted that a chess club has been operating on the basis of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ for more than two years, conducting online training sessions for residents. The SEZ team is one of the strongest among the amateurs at city tournaments.
