Technopolis Moscow, a resident of the special economic zone (SEZ), has released a high-tech laser complex for cutting sheet materials. The machine cuts out blanks of the desired shape and size from a whole sheet of metal at high speeds. This was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
"Moscow's SEZ is the flagship of the capital's innovation industry. On behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the city provides comprehensive support to high-tech enterprises, which allows them to produce modern medicines and medical equipment, microelectronics and robotic devices. The high—speed laser complex for cutting sheet materials, created by a resident of the capital's special economic zone, is equipped with a CNC and is capable of operating around the clock in high-load mode," said Maxim Liksutov.
The equipment was developed by Lassard company. The maximum cutting speed of the new machine reaches 300 meters per minute. High power and automation make it possible to use it in key industries: transport and heavy machinery, aerospace, construction and instrumentation.
The design is based on a unique displacement system with linear motors and a suspended Y-beam. This ensures high dynamics, eliminates synchronization problems and reduces the impact of vibrations on the cutting process. Another advantage is the possibility of installing a second independent cutting system, which significantly increases productivity.
In addition, 17 models of the resident's equipment, including machines for laser cutting, marking and engraving, are included in the register of Russian industrial products of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the Technopolis Moscow SEZ is Russia's largest special economic zone both in terms of investments and operating areas. More than 2.1 million square meters of modern industrial, public and business space have been built on its territory. By the end of 2025, the total volume of private and budgetary investments in the development of industry in the SEZ amounted to 493 billion rubles.
Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026. Over two decades, the project has transformed from a launching pad for innovation into a key hub for the domestic industry. Today, there are already 10 SEZ sites, and their total area is more than 430 hectares. They have localized the production of over 240 high-tech enterprises. They work in such strategic areas as microelectronics, instrumentation, biomedicine, IT and robotics. The number of highly qualified jobs created is 30,000.
Moscow is actively developing high-tech industries. Thanks to urban solutions, investors receive platforms with tax benefits and can bring innovative products to the market. This contributes to the implementation of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy".
