Residents of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ) saved more than 4.2 billion rubles on customs payments in the first quarter of 2026. Currently, there are 26 customs control zones in the SEZ, two of which were created last year at the Alabushevo and Krasnaya Pakhra sites. This was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
"On behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the city is systematically developing measures to support high-tech industries. The application of the free customs zone regime completely exempts SEZ residents from paying duties and value-added tax on the import of equipment, components and raw materials. The released funds are used by the company to launch new lines, scientific research and create new jobs. In the first quarter of 2026, the measure allowed enterprises to save more than 4.2 billion rubles. This reduces the cost of finished products, which means that Moscow goods become more competitive in the domestic and foreign markets," said Maxim Liksutov.
The customs infrastructure of the capital's SEZ is fully automated. This is critically important for industries such as microelectronics, robotics, and medical device manufacturing.
An addressable approach is applied to each resident here. A temporary storage warehouse is operating at the Pechatniki site to receive foreign goods. Its total area exceeds 1.5 thousand square meters. The warehouse can accommodate up to 20 vehicles at a time, with cargo handled around the clock.
Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that residents of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ have been exempt from paying property, transport and land taxes for 10 years. The income tax rate for them has been reduced to 2%.
Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026. Over two decades, the project has transformed from a launching pad for innovation into a key hub for the domestic industry. Today, there are already 10 sites, and their total area is more than 430 hectares. The production of over 240 high-tech enterprises is localized there. They work in such strategic areas as microelectronics, instrumentation, biomedicine, IT and robotics. The number of highly qualified jobs created is 30,000.
Moscow is actively developing tools to support industry. Thanks to urban solutions, companies can invest in launching new lines and creating jobs. Such events contribute to the development of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy".
