A practical seminar "How to make factories points of attraction" was held at the congress center of the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone. Industry for youth". More than 70 experts discussed the role of excursions to enterprises in developing human resources, increasing consumer loyalty and recognition of domestic manufacturers. This was announced by Olga Starikova, General Director of the NGO Center for Export, Industry and Investment Support Mosprom.
Industrial tourism has proven to be an effective tool for popularizing the industrial sector. For more than six years, the project "Open#Mosprom" shows residents and guests of the city the backstage of Moscow factories. On the one hand, it is an opportunity to introduce the younger generation to the specifics of engineering and manufacturing specialties. On the other hand, it is a way to demonstrate to visitors the power and potential of the city's industry, to talk about innovative technologies and breakthrough engineering solutions. The workshop was the first event organized by "Open#Mosprom", which brought together experts of industrial tourism.
"Moscow is rightfully considered the industrial and scientific center of the country. It is logical that the capital is the driver of the development of industrial tourism. Since 2019, within the framework of the project “Open#Mosprom organized more than 3,500 excursions to the factories of the city. Workshop “How to make factories points of attraction. Industry for youth”, organized in the SEZ “Technopolis Moscow has become a unique opportunity for live communication and exchange of best practices among leading experts who solve daily issues of popularization of the industrial sector and manufacturing specialties," said Olga Starikova.
The plenary session discussed the development of industrial tourism in Moscow and other regions of the Russian Federation, ways to popularize this area, why factory tours are recognized as successful practices in personnel policy, and what training programs exist for tour guides. Speakers were: Olga Starikova, CEO of ANO Mosprom; Vladimir Mostovoy, Deputy Director of the Department of Regional Industrial Policy, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation; Sergey Ryzhov, founder of the agency for business events and the Promtourism project, author of the Industrial Tourism of the Russian Federation initiative, ASI expert; Tatiana Semenova, Deputy General Director for Communications of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ; Olga Shandurenko, expert on the development of industrial tourism, creator of the Open Industry program; Maria Pushkarskaya, head of the Center competencies in industrial tourism at Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works, expert mentor in industrial tourism at ASI; Dmitry Lavrentiev, Project Manager of the Strategic Partnership Department at VK; Ekaterina Koroleva, Director of Social Projects at Micron JSC.
Thus, Vladimir Mostovoy noted that over the five years of the Open Industry program for promoting the human and technological potential of Russian manufacturers, 2.5 thousand enterprises from 85 regions of the country joined the project, and more than 2.5 million people visited production sites in 2025. Maria Pushkarskaya spoke about the specifics of industrial tours at the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works. The company's excursion program includes eight tours for adults and children, four for each category, and in eight years the plant has received more than 81,000 visitors, including over 30,500 children.
Tatiana Semenova, Deputy General Director for Communications of Technopolis Moscow SEZ, shared the results of the Technotourism project, which has been implemented since 2022. In 2025, about four thousand people visited the high-tech enterprises of the special economic zone, and more than 12.5 thousand in total since the launch of the initiative. Residents of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Vladimir, Gus-Khrustalny, Tula, Tver, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and other regions showed interest in the production sites. Foreign delegations from China, India, Iraq, Venezuela, Mexico, North Korea, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan also regularly visit.
In the practical part of the workshop, the participants were asked to come up with their ideal tour, and then defend it in front of an expert jury. Also, within the framework of the event, 18 enterprises of the city were awarded with commendations for their special contribution to the development of industrial tourism in Moscow.: M. V. The Open Project#Mosprom unites more than 150 factories and about 10 different online and offline formats: guided tours of production facilities, video reports, quizzes and other special events.
