A company from the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ) has created a high-speed 3D human scanner. The device is powered by artificial intelligence and allows you to get an accurate digital copy of the figure in just 10 seconds instead of the previous 30. This was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
"On behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the city supports high-tech companies. These measures give a concrete result: enterprises create advanced developments and actively introduce innovations into production. For example, one of the companies in the capital's SEZ presented an updated model of a 3D human scanner. The device runs three times faster than previous versions. To date, there are no analogues of such equipment in Russia," Maxim Liksutov said.
The device is developed and manufactured by Texel, a company that specializes in professional three-dimensional scanning and virtual clothing fitting systems. The company's engineers abandoned the usual scheme with cameras moving around a person. The new version of the scanner uses static sensors embedded in a stationary column. This approach allows you to collect less primary digital interference, and mathematical algorithms of artificial intelligence complete all the missing information with high accuracy.
The device's software is included in the registry of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation. It is capable of taking more than 100 body measurements according to the standards that apply to individual tailoring. With the help of the data obtained, it is possible not only to make work clothes or a suit according to the figure, but also to understand in advance how a particular thing will look on a person. In addition to light industry and online retail, 3D scanners are in demand in professional sports and medicine.
The company's products are exported to more than 20 countries. In 2024, the company delivered its virtual fitting room to one of the largest Brazilian retailers.
In addition to its core business, the company trains personnel for the metropolitan industry. Since 2022, the company has been a participant in the Technostage project. In 2025, more than 1,700 students completed internships in high-tech industries of the SEZ, of which more than 700 interned at Texel.
