The biobank infrastructure has been launched to accelerate the creation of innovative drugs

The Biocad Company, one of the leading biotechnological organizations in the Russian Federation, has created its own biobank infrastructure. This solution allows us to accelerate the development of original medicines and opens up opportunities for partnership with medical organizations throughout the country.

A biobank is a specialized repository of samples of biological fluids and tissues collected during clinical trials.

The created infrastructure provides the following advantages::
- reducing the time needed to develop innovative medicines, the mechanism of action of which requires in-depth study at the molecular level;
- systematic work with biomaterials and the study of biological samples, taking into account specific mutations and the therapeutic history of patients, forming a complete picture for scientific research.

The capacity of the biobank allows storing more than 380 thousand biological samples in various temperature conditions: from -196 ° C (liquid nitrogen) to +25 °C. Currently, 774 samples from 225 participants have been collected in the biobank.

The structure of the Biocad company includes the PK-137 pharmaceutical plant, which operates at the Alabushevo site as a resident of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ.

Technopolis Moscow SEZ is a special economic zone of a technical and innovative type, including ten sites. The residents of the SEZ are high-tech enterprises implementing projects in the fields of microelectronics, photonics, robotics, biotechnology, medical instrumentation, laser technology and other high-tech industries.

BIOCAD (JSC "BIOCAD") is a Russian biotechnological company engaged in the development and production of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical products: anticancer drugs, biosimilars, monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, etc.

PK-137 is a subsidiary of the pharmaceutical company BIOCAD, which specializes in the manufacture of medicines. The company produces both generic international drugs and medicines of its own design.
