The territory of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ) has increased by 38 hectares and now exceeds 430 hectares. The increase was almost 10 percent of the previous area. This will make it possible to place even more high-tech enterprises on the capital's sites, said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
"The development of the special economic zone is one of the priorities of the industrial policy of the capital. Business interest in ready-made infrastructure and tax preferences is steadily growing, so the city is expanding the territory for new businesses. The expansion of the SEZ borders will create more than seven thousand new jobs and attract additional investments into the city's economy. More than 240 companies are already operating here, and every year the number of people willing to localize production on preferential terms is increasing. In accordance with the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, it is planned to expand the territory of the special economic zone by one and a half times by 2030," Maxim Liksutov emphasized.
The Pechatniki site has grown by 16.9 hectares. A technopark and an industrial and logistics complex are currently being built there. The total area of the facilities is over 280 thousand square meters. Companies from such fields as the manufacture of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, electric vehicles and instrumentation will be represented here.
The site in New Moscow, where Russia's largest battery production cluster is being built, has been expanded by 14 hectares.
The area of the Rudnevo Industrial Park has been increased by seven hectares. The construction of four of the five buildings with a total area of about 140,000 square meters has already been completed here. They will house the production of high-tech products in key industries, including aircraft manufacturing, medical industry and others.
The development of Moscow's SEZ is proceeding rapidly. Since 2020, the volume of investments has increased nine-fold and reached 490 billion rubles. More than 30 thousand jobs have been created at the enterprises. According to the Moscow industry development strategy, by 2030, the infrastructure area will almost triple to 5.7 million square meters. The number of jobs at the SEZ sites should exceed 90 thousand.
Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone is one of the most effective tools for supporting high—tech businesses in the country. Tax benefits are available to residents. They are exempt from property, land and transport taxes for 10 years. The income tax rate for them is only two percent instead of the standard 25. In addition, as part of the procedure of the free customs zone, companies do not pay duties and VAT when importing equipment.
The expansion of the special economic zone allows businesses to localize production on preferential terms, create new jobs and strengthen technological sovereignty. This corresponds to the objectives of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy".
