75 students of NIU MIET completed internships in China

Students of the flagship university of the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone completed internships in Beijing, Nanjing and Shanghai.

75 students of the flagship university of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone of NIU MIET completed internships at leading institutes in China. So, they took advantage of the academic exchange program with Beijing Polytechnic Institute (BIT), Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NJUST) and Shanghai University of Electric Power Engineering (SUEP). This was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

"The capital's powerful scientific and industrial base, created with the support of the city under the leadership of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, modern infrastructure and a high level of professional qualifications arouse the strong interest of Chinese partners. Thus, the flagship university of Moscow's SEZ, NIU MIET, is actively developing bilateral relations with three leading Chinese universities. 75 students have already completed internships there, including 21 students in 2025," Maxim Liksutov said.

The exchange program has been in effect since 2023. It is mainly attended by students from the fields of "Computer Science and Computer Engineering", "Design and technology of electronic means", "Software Engineering" and "Management in technical systems". NIU MIET plans to launch "double degree" programs with leading universities in China, which will allow students to receive two full–fledged higher education documents - Russian and Chinese.

In addition, within the framework of bilateral relations, an international laboratory of integrated circuits and microsystems, created jointly with the Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology, will soon open on the basis of the Department of Telecommunications Systems at the National Research University of MIET.

The MIET Basic Training Center for Microelectronics plays an important role in the program of cooperation with the People's Republic of China, which, among other things, organizes internships abroad for employees of universities and microelectronic enterprises from all over Russia. For example, in 2024-2025, Russian specialists completed a professional development program in the field of photonics and microelectronics in key technological and scientific clusters in Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan and Shenzhen.
