Moscow SEZ resident has increased production of innovative metal cutting tools

The Microbor company, specializing in the production of cutting tools for metalworking, produced more than 333 thousand units of innovative products in 2025. This was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

"Enterprise from the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow is actively working to saturate the domestic market with Russian metal-cutting tools and components, which are in high demand in various industries. Since 2019, the company has been granted the status of a resident of the Moscow SEZ and is striving to replace major foreign manufacturers. By the end of 2025, Microbor produced over 333 thousand high—tech products, which is 7.2 percent more than a year earlier. During its activity in the special economic zone, the company has invested about 478 million rubles in its development, which allowed it to open 79 jobs," said Maxim Liksutov.

Microbor produces over nine thousand items of metalworking products at the Pechatniki site, constantly integrating new technologies into the production process. Of particular interest to the market are carbide plates with wear-resistant coatings for turning and milling parts, mass production of which was launched in the special economic zone of Moscow in 2024. The unique technological process of preparing the cutting edge and applying a special coating has been developed by our own scientific and technical center.

Companies that have received resident status enjoy large-scale tax preferences: for 10 years they are exempt from paying taxes on property, land and transport, and the income tax rate is two percent instead of 25. Residents are also exempt from paying customs duties and VAT when importing goods and equipment under the procedure of a free customs zone. The company uses the saved funds to increase production volumes, as well as to develop new high-tech products.
