Technopolis Moscow SEZ companies offer college and university students not only to see how modern production works, but also to become part of their work processes. Why count microns, what is industrial technology and what opportunities the Technostage project opens up — in our material.
The Technostage project of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ) helps students of the capital to gain their first professional experience and understand how modern production works. It provides an opportunity to practice at high—tech enterprises and try yourself in various industries, from industry to pharmaceuticals.
Since 2022, more than 3.2 thousand students have completed internships in metropolitan companies as part of the project, of which over 1.7 thousand will be in 2025. Students and graduates of universities and colleges, as well as professional development specialists, can take part. The project's website publishes a list of available sites, conditions and vacancies, and resumes can also be posted there. The participants told the correspondent mos.ru , what skills you acquired and how you decided on your future career trajectory.
From neural networks to 3D modeling
65 enterprises of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ have already joined the Technostage project. They have concluded more than 30 internship agreements for students of Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Moscow Polytechnic University, Moscow Automobile and Road Engineering State Technical University, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and the College of the Presidential Academy.
Texel, a company specializing in the development of artificial intelligence and 3D scanning technologies, became one of the leaders in terms of the number of internships conducted in 2025. Over 700 novice programmers, designers, engineers and information technology specialists tried their hand here.
"We are developing modern technologies, so it is important for us to keep abreast of what young specialists can do today, and what conditions they need for comfortable and efficient work. At the first meeting, we offer students a set of real-world tasks. Everyone can choose what is interesting: build a digital model of a person, supplement the program with the necessary parameters, launch an advertising campaign on a new site, or complete another task. The interns are supervised by experienced specialists, university and college professors," says Maxim Fedyukov, CEO of the company.
Young specialists can complete internships at the company's site or online. They are developing 3D scanning technologies, creating programs to optimize sewing production based on digital models of the human body, and learning how to write correct prompta (text queries) for neural networks.
In the fall, Daria Surikova, a fourth-year student at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, completed an internship at the company.
"I was able to improve my ability to work with artificial intelligence tools and achieve the desired results from it in a specific case. This will help me solve problems faster in any field. In addition, I managed to develop the ability to work in a team and plan time. Now I know how to communicate with colleagues, conduct business correspondence, and open up new opportunities for self—development," says Daria Surikova.
The internship inspired the girl to come up with an original thesis topic. Together with her classmates, she is developing a program for 3D reconstruction of the human body for medical purposes. It is assumed that the doctor will be able to go to the home of a patient with limited mobility, photograph him and create a personal digital model based on the images obtained. It will allow you to assess how the body will change during the treatment process. Assemble robots and make machine tools
Among the partners of Technostage is Lassard, one of the leaders among manufacturers of machine tools for metallurgy, automotive, microelectronics and other industries. Vyacheslav Mareev, a fourth-year student at the Moscow State Educational Complex, completed an internship here in September. He is studying locksmithing and wanted to apply his skills to real production as soon as possible.
"When I first arrived, I watched the work of experienced craftsmen and performed the tasks of a curator. Today I assemble small laser engraving machines myself. It's not easy: you need to place the boards, the laser head, the electronics, and the lens correctly. If the working surface has a slope of even a fraction of a micron, the quality of the engraving will greatly decrease. After assembly, I check and test the equipment. I feel involved in the development of an important industry for the country, I understand that I am making the right product, and I am proud of it," says Vyacheslav Mareev.
After the internship, the young specialist decided to continue working with the company and became an assistant inspector technician. He makes up his work schedule based on his studies. The student believes that he has gained valuable experience.
Ivan Datskov, a fourth-year student at the Moscow State Technological University "Stankin", also chose a job in production. He is currently undergoing an internship at the Special Design and Technology Bureau of Applied Robotics, which manufactures robots for emergency rescue operations.
"I had an internship at this production last year, and I really liked it. The company's employees showed how to work on milling and turning machines, install various elements on robots. I'm doing more complex tasks now. For example, I can independently mount the necessary equipment and connect it to system boards. So far, I often check the drawings and consult with experienced craftsmen, but I already feel confident," says Ivan Datskov.
The student wants to explore work in other departments of the company, for example, to master grinding and turning machines, to practice setting up equipment. He combines his internship with studying at a university and writing a diploma. After graduation, Ivan Datskov will be able to fully devote himself to robotics, which he has been interested in since childhood.
Practice at a pharmaceutical factory
After participating in the Technostage project, students who have performed well can find a job at the company. Alexandra Kiselyova, a specialist in the production department at the R-Oprah company, part of the R-Pharm pharmaceutical group, went through this path. Last August, after receiving her bachelor's degree in organic chemistry from MIREA, a Russian Technological University, she interned at a plant in Zelenograd.
"Two or three times a week, I came to the production and studied the specifics of its work for eight hours. At the same time, I could choose which department I wanted to visit today: quality control, the packaging workshop, the laboratory, the entrance and interoperation control groups. The company's staff treated me carefully, prompted me, helped me figure it out, and gave me the opportunity to immerse myself in the case. I learned how medicines are produced, what stages this process involves and what happens at each of them," explains Alexandra Kiselyova.
Today, she is studying for a master's degree at the MIREA Russian University of Technology in industrial Pharmacy and works at the same factory where she completed her internship. Its tasks include the preparation of documents, including the preparation of a production plan, the creation of requests for materials, and the verification of necessary papers before launching new technological processes. A novice specialist wants to continue to cooperate with the company and grow up to be a department head or production director.
More than 240 high-tech companies, employing over 30,000 people, operate in the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone. Enterprises produce modern medicines, medical devices, microelectronics, unmanned aircraft systems, elevators, batteries, innovative products for the space industry, components for electric vehicles and other products.
