Since the end of 2023, the Technopolis Moscow SEZ resident has produced 5.5 million fully Russian Troika transport cards that meet the highest security requirements. This was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

"On behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, all technological processes for the manufacture of the Troika have been localized in the capital. Previously, some of its production operations were carried out outside of Russia. Today, an entirely new-generation Russian chip is used, which has three times as much memory. In two years, a resident of the capital's SEZ has issued 5.5 million domestic transport cards. The company's facilities make it possible to meet the needs of Moscow, as well as scale the capital's ticket system. Currently, Troika is already operating in more than 20 regions of our country. Thanks to the introduction of the map, the city annually saves 2.5 billion rubles by eliminating the printing of checks and paper tickets. More than 25 million transactions take place in the Moscow ticket system every day, which is comparable to the volume of a large bank," said Maxim Liksutov.

In 2018, the Moscow Metro and the Micron plant established the Micron Security Printing joint venture, 50 percent of which belongs to the metro. In 2019, the development of a new domestic chip began, which has been used in the Troika since 2022, and since 2023, its production has been 100 percent localized in the capital.

The manufacture of high—tech ticket media is divided into several stages: the manufacture of a microcircuit, the "brain" of the card, which provides all the functionality; its enclosure in an OWL module for protection and contact with the reader; mounting on a board with an antenna for contactless reading; printing and connecting all layers.

The assembly production line consists of 10 installations that perform operations for mounting an integrated circuit on a substrate, welding terminals using aluminum wire, sealing, grinding, electrical control, as well as cutting and sorting COB modules. Another 14 installations are designed for the production of inlets, including the positioning of the COB module, antenna shaping, contact welding, lamination and quality control.
