Karacharovsky Mechanical Plant increased the production of elevators by 45% in 12 months

In 2025, the Karacharovsky Mechanical Plant (KMZ) provided the supply of about five thousand high-tech elevators. This was announced by Anatoly Garbuzov, Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Investment and Industrial Policy Department.

"On behalf of the Mayor of Moscow, the city actively supports the development of the high-tech industry. In its jubilee year, the Karacharovsky Mechanical Plant produced 4,911 elevators. This is 45% more than in 2024. The company manufactures lifting equipment for residential and administrative buildings, as well as specialized models: medical, freight and small freight elevators. The growth of indicators reflects the activities of KMZ in the implementation of capital repair and renovation programs. As part of the fulfillment of obligations under the offset contract with the city, Karacharovsky Mechanical Plant will supply more than 20,000 elevators over 10 years for the Moscow Capital Repair Fund program," Anatoly Garbuzov noted.

In addition to Moscow, KMZ's production facilities provide supplies to residential buildings and infrastructure facilities in more than 20 regions of Russia. As part of agreements with regional Capital Repair Funds, KMZ will supply 1,200 elevators for apartment buildings. The company implements large-scale projects in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, Murmansk, Tula regions and other regions of the country.

"In 2025, the Karacharovsky Mechanical Plant created its own service division, becoming a full-cycle enterprise, and the main financial indicators of the enterprise doubled compared to the previous year. The phased modernization of production ensures the reliability of serial supplies of KMZ elevator equipment. In 2025, the company installed 40 units of new machine tools, with a total cost of over 300 million rubles, including high—precision laser cutting units from the capital manufacturer and 67 jobs were updated," added Dmitry Sidelkovsky, General Director of the Karacharovsky Mechanical Plant.

The plant's development concept provides for the construction of a new workshop for the production of elevator components and a 138-meter-high test tower, which will ensure a full cycle of elevator testing and shorten the time to bring products to market.

In 2025, the Karacharovsky Mechanical Plant celebrated its 75th anniversary. Over the years, the company has manufactured more than 288,000 elevators. Currently, the first Russian cluster of elevator construction and vertical transport is being formed on the basis of KMZ, which will allow the capital to strengthen its position as a technological leader in this industry segment.
