Innovation in construction: BIM-modeling increases the efficiency of projects of OEZ «Technopolis Moscow»

Digital technologies in industrial and infrastructure construction are being consistently introduced in Moscow.

When implementing projects in the capital's special economic zone, modern digital technologies are actively used to increase the efficiency and quality of urban infrastructure construction. One of the key tools has become building information modeling — BIM (Building Information Modeling). This was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

"By order of the Mayor of Moscow, digital technologies in industrial and infrastructural construction are being consistently introduced in the city. The use of BIM modeling at the Technopolis Moscow SEZ facilities makes it possible to increase the accuracy of design decisions, shorten deadlines and ensure effective quality control at all stages. To date, more than 280 thousand square meters of production space in the special economic zone of the capital are being built using this innovative solution," Maxim Liksutov added.

BIM technologies are a modern design system based on the creation of three-dimensional digital models of buildings and structures integrated with data on all structural and engineering elements. Such models make it possible to work out architectural and technological solutions in detail even at the stage of object development. Information modeling technologies are most actively used in the implementation of projects at the Rudnevo and Krasnaya Pakhra sites, as well as in the construction of an industrial building at the Pechatniki site.

Digital services are used by designers, engineers, and construction control specialists from Promstroy LLC. They make it possible to compare project documentation from different contractors, quickly identify optimal solutions and reduce the risks of errors.

"Modern technologies open up new horizons for the quality and efficiency of construction. Moreover, digitalization in construction is possible not only during the design process, but also at subsequent stages. In particular, we at Promstroy carry out continuous video monitoring of the progress of work at the facilities. Employees of our situation center monitor construction sites in real time – they control the number of special equipment and employees, promptly mark any deviations and prevent possible safety violations. This allows us to guarantee the reliability, accuracy and safety of the implementation of each of our facilities," said Vladislav Sultanov, General Director of Industrial Construction LLC.

In addition, prefabricated structures made of light, thin-walled materials are widely used in the industrial construction of the capital. Such solutions reduce installation time, minimize the number of technological joints and ensure high-quality execution, complementing digital design technologies.

A special economic zone is a territory with a special legal status, which has a preferential business regime for investors. The area of the SEZ's high-tech enterprises exceeds 390 hectares. For several years, Technopolis Moscow has been a leader in international and national industry ratings.
