One of the country's leading technical universities, the National Research University of Electronic Technology (NRU MIET), celebrated its 60th anniversary. In 2025 alone, the university graduated more than 1,200 new specialists in micro- and nanoelectronics and information technology, according to Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
"The success of NRU MIET today is largely based on the traditions established 60 years ago: a combination of fundamental science, a practical focus, and close collaboration with the electronics industry. The flagship university of the Moscow SEZ continues to build a continuous "school-university-enterprise" trajectory and is a key talent pool for microelectronics and photonics companies in the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone. Over the course of its existence, NRU MIET has trained more than 40,000 highly qualified specialists," said Maxim Liksutov.
The highly professional teaching staff, modern teaching and laboratory facilities, and the implementation of relevant educational programs have made the university a magnet for prospective students. In the 2025/2026 academic year, approximately 5,700 applicants were admitted, including approximately 1,500 high school graduates admitted to the first year of undergraduate and specialist programs.
The university is also actively engaged in research. Among the developments of Zelenograd scientists are a portable "Artificial Kidney" device, a device for the rapid detection of heart failure by analyzing a patient's saliva, as well as research in photonics and quantum computing.
