Elevator production in Moscow has grown by almost a quarter

In the first nine months of 2025, approximately 11,800 elevators were manufactured in the capital. This represents a 23.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to Anatoly Garbuzov, Moscow Government Minister and Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.

"The elevator industry makes a significant contribution to the city's industrial potential, providing equipment both to the local market and to other regions. From January to September, Moscow enterprises produced approximately 11,800 units—a 23.5% increase compared to the first three quarters of 2024. Thus, Moscow is outpacing the national growth rate and accounts for almost 60% of the industry's total output in Russia," noted Anatoly Garbuzov.

Currently, four major companies operate in the Moscow sector. Thanks to Moscow's systematic support, they are successfully developing innovative models, launching new projects, and consistently expanding their capacities.

Moscow elevators are widely used in housing construction and modernization, including in other regions of the country. For example, the Karacharovsky Mechanical Plant (KMZ) is implementing large-scale projects in the Republic of Crimea and the Samara and Murmansk regions.

Last year, the city included the KMZ site in the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone. An elevator and vertical transport cluster is being formed at the plant, which will allow the capital to strengthen its position as a technological leader in this field, ensure synergies between manufacturers, and create conditions for the long-term development of the sector.

The cluster already produces modern elevators and will launch the production of domestically produced travelators and escalators. The site will also begin producing components for lifting devices, including control systems, frequency converters, cabin door drives, TFT screens, and other components.

Moscow is Russia's largest industrial and scientific-engineering center. Around 150 high-tech enterprises open in the city annually. Almost 4,600 industrial companies already operate in the capital, employing approximately 755,000 people. Today, manufacturers have access to over 20 effective support measures, including a preferential investment loan program, offset contracts, and other instruments.
