Work has begun on reconstructing entry points and checkpoints at the Pechatniki site of the special economic zone. A total of six facilities are planned for renovation, three of which have already been completed, according to Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
"Following the instructions of the Moscow Mayor, the city is consistently developing modern industrial infrastructure, creating comfortable conditions for high-tech enterprises. The formation of an innovation cluster in the Pechatniki district has become an important stage in this process. By 2027, approximately 300,000 square meters of production space are planned to be commissioned here and approximately 3,200 new jobs will be created," Liksutov added.
A total of six checkpoints are planned for modernization. Currently, the reconstruction of Checkpoint No. 1 has been completed, and two barrier-type vehicle entrances have been installed. Three more checkpoints, including vehicle entrances and checkpoints for SEZ personnel and visitors, are currently being renovated. All buildings will be designed in a unified architectural style.
"The Special Economic Zone is one of the capital's key industrial centers and a site where modern production standards are established. Therefore, upgrading the checkpoints is not simply an improvement to their appearance, but a comprehensive effort to enhance security, convenience, and operational efficiency throughout the entire area," said Anatoly Garbuzov, Moscow Government Minister and Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.
The new buildings and barriers will simplify entry to the special economic zone and make its transport infrastructure more comfortable and functional.
As Vladislav Sultanov, General Director of Industrial Construction LLC, noted, the experience of exploring any space begins with the entrance. The new checkpoints will not only be equipped with the most modern access control systems but will also feature a unique design. The façade of the completed Checkpoint No. 1 was designed according to a custom sketch and fits into the SEZ's distinctive aesthetic. Its architectural accent—a laser-cut pattern of gears—symbolizes the site's industrial development and technological prowess.
Pechatniki will develop in four areas: mechanical engineering, electronics and microelectronics, industrial design, and robotics.
