Technopolis Moscow SEZ Resident Launches a New Innovative Prosthetic Solution

A resident of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone and the Skolkovo Innovation Center has launched production of an advanced body-powered prosthetic hand with increased load-bearing capacity. The announcement was made by Maxim Liksutov, Moscow’s Deputy Mayor for Transport and Industrial Development.

“Under the instruction of Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, we continue to strengthen high-tech manufacturing within the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, delivering products that significantly improve quality of life. A SEZ resident has recently introduced a new version of its body-powered prosthesis featuring enhanced grip performance and higher load capacity. The company plans to manufacture more than 300 units by the end of 2025,” said Maxim Liksutov.

The prosthesis was developed by Motorica. According to the company’s CEO, Andrey Davidyuk, the updated model is now even more functional and user-friendly. Each finger can be fixed independently, while redesigned silicone tips ensure a more secure grip—meaning objects are far less likely to slip. In addition, users can now carry between 2 and 4 kilograms depending on prosthesis size, compared to the previous range of 1.5 to 2 kilograms.

Earlier, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin highlighted the rapid development of high-tech industrial companies across the city.

Modernization and expansion of production facilities in Moscow are made possible through strong support from the city government. Residents of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ benefit from substantial tax incentives: for ten years, companies are exempt from property, land, and transport taxes, while the profit tax rate is reduced to 2 percent instead of 25 percent. SEZ residents are also exempt from customs duties and VAT when importing goods and equipment under the free customs zone regime. These savings enable companies to reinvest in production upgrades as well as in the development and deployment of new high-tech solutions.
