Faina Filina, Director for External Communications at Gaskar, noted that the unmanned aerial systems (UAS) industry is developing rapidly, driven by a combination of technological progress, government support, and growing demand for efficient solutions.
Today, drones produced by Russian manufacturers can be used for a wide range of applications — from monitoring natural areas, traffic flows, construction sites, power lines, and oil pipelines to search and rescue operations, delivering medicines to remote regions, and conducting aerial photography and mapping. For instance, using Gaskar’s droneport, park territories in Mitino are regularly monitored.
“The government is actively investing in the development of the drone industry. Moscow serves as a successful example of how this sector can grow. Within the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone, a unique foundation has been established that brings together Russian manufacturers producing advanced drones, software, and components — including circuit boards, cameras, motors, batteries, and flight controllers.
This development is supported by substantial tax incentives and other benefits provided by the Moscow Government to SEZ residents. For example, the profit tax is reduced to 2 percent, while land, property, and transport taxes are fully exempt. Companies also have the opportunity to establish customs control zones, allowing them to import components, equipment, and raw materials required for production without paying customs duties or VAT,” said Filina.
Thanks to such measures of government support, enterprises are able to reinvest their savings into development, modernization of production facilities, and the creation of new products.
