Technopolis Moscow SEZ Ranks First in the Sustainable Development Ranking of Russia’s Special Economic Zones

At the 2025 International Forum of Russian Special Economic Zones, the results of the third Sustainable Development Ranking of Russian SEZs were announced. The Technopolis Moscow technico-innovative SEZ took first place. The announcement was made by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

The Association of Clusters, Technoparks, and Special Economic Zones of Russia (ACIT RF), with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, prepared the third Sustainable Development Ranking of SEZs. Experts evaluated the management companies of SEZs based on the implementation of sustainable development principles, which include environmental initiatives, social standards, and business governance transparency. Technopolis Moscow SEZ was recognized as the leader.

“Technopolis Moscow SEZ is a driver of Moscow’s high-tech industry. We place special emphasis on improving the environment and enhancing sustainable development practices. Within the Moscow SEZ, we create new high-paying jobs, implement energy-saving technologies, and develop social and recreational infrastructure. Our leadership in the Sustainable Development Ranking reflects the success and effectiveness of the Moscow Government’s measures to develop industrial production, human capital, and environmental initiatives,” said Maxim Liksutov.

Technopolis Moscow SEZ actively advances sustainable development practices. Companies within the SEZ implement waste recycling and reuse technologies, optimize energy and water consumption, and enhance labor productivity. Production sites also feature designated areas for collecting and transferring waste for further processing.

To further promote the sustainable development agenda, Technopolis Moscow SEZ signed an agreement with Public Capital independent non-profit organization, granting the SEZ the status of Ambassador of the Corporate Social Capital Standard. Under this cooperation, a series of initiatives is planned to further integrate social responsibility principles into the business practices of companies operating within the Moscow SEZ.
