Moscow has begun using new electric street-cleaning machines manufactured in Russia. The announcement was made by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on his official channel in the MAX messenger.
The equipment is produced by Zavod Innovatsionnoy Spetstekhniki (Innovative Special Equipment Plant), a resident of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone. The enterprise operates under an offset supply contract for the production and delivery of electric municipal vehicles.
“Thanks to close cooperation between the plant and city utility services, the machines are well adapted to Moscow’s urban environment. At present, 52 units are already in operation on city streets, and we plan to increase their number in the future,” noted the Mayor of Moscow.
The model is compact, versatile, and highly maneuverable. It features all-wheel drive, enabling year-round use for cleaning streets and parks. In summer, the machine functions as a road vacuum sweeper, while in winter it clears snow and distributes anti-icing materials using a front-mounted brush system.
A key advantage of the new machines is their environmentally friendly electric motor, which reduces operating costs and noise levels—by up to 75 percent compared to diesel-powered counterparts. This allows the vehicles to operate at night and in areas where minimal noise is essential.
