"First Russian Gondola Cabin with Detachable Grip Produced at Technopolis Moscow SEZ
The resident of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ), RUSLET, has unveiled the first domestically produced gondola cabin equipped with a detachable grip. The announcement was made by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
“On the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, the capital is actively working to strengthen the country’s technological sovereignty and supports the production of modern innovative products. The tax incentives and benefits provided to SEZ residents enable companies to reinvest savings into the development and modernization of production and to bring highly demanded high-tech products to market. For example, a cable car manufacturer has introduced the first Russian-made gondola cabin with a detachable grip. The new cabin comes in two versions — for eight and ten passengers,” said Maxim Liksutov.
The technical design of the cabin was developed by the company’s in-house engineering center at the Moscow SEZ.
“The cabin is made from Russian components and has already been included in the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Register of Russian Industrial Products. It can be operated even in strong winds, reaches speeds of up to six meters per second, and features a braking function for more convenient boarding and disembarking. Since beginning operations in the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, the resident has created 270 jobs,” noted Anatoly Garbuzov, Moscow Government Minister and Head of the Department of Industrial and Investment Policy.
Thanks to its universal design, the new development also integrates seamlessly into both urban and natural landscapes.
“The uniqueness of the cabin lies in its spaciousness per passenger. Wide seats, increased legroom, and high ceilings create entirely new standards of passenger comfort. The cabin features an aerodynamic shape and the largest glass surface area in the industry — 14 square meters. Its wide doorway improves boarding speed by 20 percent, while also accommodating passengers with reduced mobility and allowing for cargo transport on Euro pallets,” said Dmitry Sidorovich, CEO of RUSLET.
According to Gennady Degtev, CEO of Technopolis Moscow SEZ, the company has localized key production processes at the Pechatniki site, including the manufacturing of metal structures for ropeway systems, machining, plasma cutting, and in-house software development. He added that the company has been a resident of the SEZ since 2021."
