"Moscow SEZ Ranked First in Expert Center’s National Rating for Contribution to the Russian Economy

For the fifth year in a row, the Technopolis Moscow SEZ has maintained leading positions in the national ranking of industrial parks and special economic zones compiled by the Expert Analytical Center. In 2024, analysts highly praised the SEZ’s contribution to the country’s economy, its level of client orientation, and the effectiveness of its management company. The results were announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

The Expert Center presented the results of its ninth annual ranking of industrial parks and special economic zones across Russia. A key feature of this year’s research was the assessment of client orientation of industrial sites, reflecting one of the most important demands of business during a time of global economic transformation.

“Technopolis Moscow SEZ is one of the most effective and sought-after tools for supporting the capital’s high-tech businesses. Companies within the SEZ regularly develop advanced solutions that benefit the entire country. According to the 2024 results, analysts ranked the contribution of Technopolis Moscow SEZ to the Russian economy in first place. In addition, Moscow SEZ confirmed its high level of client orientation, receiving the maximum score in the ‘Services’ category,” said Maxim Liksutov.

The ranking also evaluated the economic performance of management companies of industrial parks and special economic zones. The Moscow SEZ demonstrated one of the highest levels of average profitability.

“Technopolis Moscow SEZ is not only advanced industrial infrastructure but also a space for developing human and professional potential. According to the ranking’s experts, the number of jobs created in the Moscow SEZ is comparable to employment in a small city. At present, more than 22,000 highly paid jobs have been created in the Moscow SEZ. Educational, sports, and leisure events are regularly organized for employees and visitors of the special economic zone,” emphasized Anatoly Garbuzov, Moscow Government Minister and Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.

According to Gennady Degtev, CEO of Technopolis Moscow SEZ, special attention is paid to creating a favorable business environment. New infrastructure is being built, transport accessibility is being improved, and a wide range of services is offered — from a resident’s personal online account to consulting and marketing support. These measures, he noted, contribute to the comprehensive social and economic development of Moscow’s special economic zone."
