New Racing Car Models Developed and Produced at the “Technopolis Moscow” Special Economic Zone
High-speed cars for professional athletes and car enthusiasts, available in two configurations—“Sport” and “City”—have been developed and produced at the “Technopolis Moscow” Special Economic Zone. The body of the racing car resembles the “Moskvich 401,” equipped with a VAZ-21126 engine, and the exterior panels are made from composite materials, according to Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
“Under the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, the city supports and promotes the growth of the domestic automotive industry, including sports cars. The electric vehicle cluster at the Technopolis Moscow SEZ is actively developing, and in the near future, we plan to launch a full automotive cluster. Today, a wide range of automotive products is manufactured in the SEZ—from temperature sensors to electric trucks and racing cars. The design bureau ‘ArtLine Technology’ has introduced new, unique racing cars whose body resembles the ‘Moskvich 401.’ The engine power ranges from 150 to 400 horsepower. The cars can reach speeds of up to 260 kilometers per hour and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds,” said Maxim Liksutov.
The high-speed cars have undergone a series of tests, received registration, and are ready for use.
“The new vehicles are two-seater racing ‘Formula’ cars, enclosed with composite body panels that bear only aerodynamic loads while in motion. The structure is based on a carbon fiber monocoque with a welded aluminum frame integrated into it, topped with a safety cage. The engine, prepared by ArtLine Technology, features a dry sump lubrication system and an oil radiator. The base engine is a standard VAZ-21126,” noted Anatoly Garbuzov, Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.
The car is also equipped with independent suspension and anti-roll bars.
“The manual transmission consists of a dual-disc dry clutch and a 6-speed sequential dog-type gearbox with a limited-slip differential. Gear shifts are controlled via paddle shifters. The interior features eight ventilation nozzles, a ceiling light fixture, uniquely upholstered seats, an instrument panel, a central console, and safety cage tubing,” explained Alexander Nesterov, General Director of ArtLine Technology.
Racing cars developed and produced at the Moscow SEZ participate in regional and national competitions, including the Russian Circuit Racing Series, Moscow Classic Grand Prix, Akhmat Race Russian Cup, and the Moscow Region Championship.
According to Gennady Dyogtev, General Director of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, the design company producing these racing cars has been operating at the “Pechatniki” site since 2014. The production area of the enterprise exceeds 1,000 square meters.
