“Technopolis Moscow” and St. Petersburg SEZs Sign Cooperation Agreement at SPIEF 2025
Special Economic Zones (SEZs) “Technopolis Moscow” and “St. Petersburg” will develop trade, economic, and scientific-technical ties in the interests of the two Russian Federation regions. The corresponding agreement was signed at the 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
The parties will assist entrepreneurs and organizations from Moscow and St. Petersburg in developing business connections and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
“Special Economic Zone ‘Technopolis Moscow’ is a driver of industrial development in the capital. More than 220 high-tech enterprises produce products in microelectronics, pharmaceuticals, electric vehicles, and unmanned aviation. St. Petersburg is one of Russia’s largest markets and a transport hub through which international cargo is delivered. Among the customers of Technopolis Moscow’s enterprises are already St. Petersburg companies and organizations. For example, Moscow-based manufacturers supply composite railing systems, innovative laser machines, robotic complexes, educational, interactive, and inspection equipment, and much more. The cooperation agreement between our SEZs will give an additional impetus to the development of trade, economic, and scientific cooperation,” said Gennady Dyogtev, CEO of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ.
The parties agreed to hold exhibitions, fairs, seminars, symposia, conferences, and other events to familiarize business circles with the economies and export opportunities of Moscow and St. Petersburg. Special attention will be paid to organizing business missions to friendly countries to improve international positions and adopt best practices within the SEZs. In addition, the parties agreed to cooperate in developing small and medium-sized enterprises and jointly searching for partners for industrial cooperation.
“This agreement opens new horizons for cooperation and development of our regions, based on the platforms of two successful SEZs. It is an important step toward strengthening economic ties and creating favorable conditions for investors. We already have experience placing the capacities of several of our residents in both SEZs – Moscow and St. Petersburg. We see a synergistic effect from this format of cooperation: scaling projects across multiple regions allows us to fully leverage each region’s advantages for successful business development and Russia’s industrial potential,” said Tamara Rondaleva, CEO of the St. Petersburg SEZ.
