Five Innovative Manufacturing Facilities to Open at New Industrial Building of Technopolis Moscow SEZ
At the Alabushevo site of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ), a new industrial building will host five high-tech manufacturing facilities. The companies will produce locally developed alternatives to imported goods in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, microelectronics, and mechanical engineering. The building spans over 11,000 sq. m, and more than 370 new jobs are expected to be created. This was reported by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
“The city is actively developing the Alabushevo site under the guidance of Mayor Sergey Sobyanin. About 20 facilities with a total area of over 330,000 sq. m have already been commissioned. In 2024 alone, more than 53,000 sq. m of the first phase of the Alabushevo industrial technopark were completed under the city’s employment stimulation program. One of the new buildings will accommodate five innovative production sites, including titanium implants for traumatology and orthopedics, nuclear medicine equipment, oncology drugs, microelectronics, and pump technology. Total investment is expected to exceed 8 billion rubles, and four of the five enterprises plan to start operations in 2025,” Liksutov said.
Among the first projects to launch is a positron emission tomography (PET/CT) scanner production facility for radioisotope-based cancer diagnostics. The devices can detect tumors at early stages with up to 95% accuracy. This project is being implemented by new SEZ resident Zanton Medical Systems.
“This is a key project for domestic healthcare, as the development of nuclear medicine is directly linked to the number of PET scanners available. The project involves over 300 million rubles in investment and will create 190 jobs. The Alabushevo site is expected to produce three high-tech devices annually. The facility is fully equipped, the staff has been trained, a customs control zone is operational, and product registration documents have been submitted,” said Anatoly Garbuzov, Moscow Government Minister and Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.
By the end of 2025, another enterprise will launch the production of titanium implants and components for orthopedics and traumatology, with an annual output of at least 140,000 units.
The new premises will also host Pharmasintez-Biocapital, a SEZ resident since 2024, which will produce targeted oncology drugs. In 2026, a solid dosage form production line with a capacity of 30,000 units per year will be opened, followed by a liquid dosage line in 2028, based on a unique technology with no analogues in Russia.
“The Alabushevo site is highly attractive to investors. Over 50 companies operate here, more than 30 of them SEZ residents. Facilities for microelectronics, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals have already created 4,800 jobs. Several objects are under construction or expansion — nine of them are expected to be commissioned in 2025, including the second phase of the industrial technopark, spanning over 50,000 sq. m. This will create further development opportunities and generate more than 2,000 new jobs next year,” said Gennady Dyogtev, CEO of Technopolis Moscow SEZ.
