Technopolis Moscow Resident Produces 11 Million Emergency Medical Devices

A resident of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ) has manufactured over 11 million medical devices used in first aid and emergency care. The company’s products are widely applied in ambulance fleets, disaster medicine, as well as military and tactical healthcare. Since joining the SEZ, Medplant has nearly tripled its production space, while the total value of output has exceeded 7 billion rubles, reported Anatoly Garbuzov, Moscow Government Minister and Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.

“Moscow is actively developing medical device manufacturing, with more than 300 companies operating in this sector. With the city’s support, enterprises are expanding capacity and introducing new solutions. One SEZ resident alone has produced 11 million emergency care devices. A key product is a patented cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) machine that performs chest compressions without human involvement — an innovative domestic development successfully replacing foreign analogues. Today, demand for this device is three times higher than planned production volumes,” Garbuzov said.

Medplant has been a resident of the Moscow SEZ since 2018.
“During this time, the company has developed and launched over 45 products, 14 of which are included in ambulance equipment kits, while 9 have no equivalents in Russia. Production facilities have expanded from 1,200 to 3,500 sq. m. In 2023, a new microelectronics assembly shop was launched, supporting the production of high-tech equipment, including the CPR device ‘Arka,’” added Gennady Dyogtev, CEO of Technopolis Moscow SEZ.

The company’s portfolio also includes portable electric aspirators, immobilization belts, pulse oximeters, CO? monitors, innovative stretchers, and spinal boards. Medplant holds 23 patents and 10 trademarks. In April 2025, the company celebrated its 25th anniversary.

“Our first product was the now-legendary orange paramedic kit case, with over 150,000 units produced in 25 years. When we moved to the Pechatniki site, we had around 500 contracts — today, we have more than 4,700. We supply products across Russia as well as to Belarus and Kazakhstan. The number of employees has grown from 15 to 122. This progress was made possible thanks to city support and SEZ residency. The Special Economic Zone offers favorable conditions, tax incentives, and client-focused services — from personnel recruitment to product promotion — enabling us to channel more resources into modernization and production growth,” said Konstantin Nevsky, Deputy CEO of Medplant.
