The Pechatniki site of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ) welcomed representatives of more than 20 scientific and high-tech companies from the People’s Republic of China. The delegation was introduced to the innovative production facilities of Moscow SEZ residents and discussed prospects for localization and joint R&D projects. The visit was reported by Anatoly Garbuzov, Moscow Government Minister and Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.

“On the initiative of Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, the city pays special attention to developing trade and economic cooperation with such an important strategic partner as China. By the end of 2024, Moscow’s exports to China increased by 24% compared to 2023. Chinese markets show strong demand for high-tech Moscow-made products, such as turbojet engines for the aviation industry, instruments and equipment, as well as goods from the microelectronics and optics sectors,” said Garbuzov.

During the working visit, the Chinese delegation toured the innovative production of Lassard, a resident company specializing in laser systems and equipment. They also familiarized themselves with the advanced ventilator systems produced by Hirana Plus, and the personal and mobile video surveillance technologies developed by Raitibor.

Another highlight of the program was a photo exhibition at the Pechatniki site dedicated to the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and China, featuring historic images from both countries.

“The Moscow SEZ left a great impression on us. What we saw today exceeded expectations. Despite the challenges faced by Russia and Moscow, we witnessed a high level of production and the release of innovative products. And, of course, it was inspiring to see the happy faces of the employees,” said Yan Shucai, Vice President of the “Bei Qing” Institute of Education.

Gennady Dyogtev, CEO of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, noted that more than 20 SEZ companies are already cooperating with Chinese partners and see further opportunities for expansion.

“Five enterprises are conducting joint research projects with Chinese partners, and four have already carried out technology transfers. Promising areas for cooperation include microelectronics, biotech medicines, advanced post-press equipment, and components for medical devices. To strengthen business ties, the Moscow SEZ is working on establishing modern negotiation facilities, training employees in Chinese, and developing simplified logistics and customs channels,” Dyogtev stated.
