Technopolis Moscow SEZ Resident Begins Producing Self-Service Checkouts

High-tech self-service checkouts with interactive panels have started production at the Pechatniki site of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Anatoly Garbuzov, Moscow Government Minister and Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, reported.

“Moscow’s industrial enterprises develop and implement high-tech digital solutions. The flagship of innovative developments is the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, where this year the resident company SAGA Technologies launched production of self-service checkouts with interactive panels. The enterprise plans to produce around 4,500 units annually. The checkouts are equipped with electronic payment terminals, thermal printers for receipts, and barcode and QR code scanners. The company invested over 100 million rubles in the project, creating approximately 70 new jobs,” Anatoly Garbuzov said.

The checkouts also include an age verification system for the sale of age-restricted products.

The company’s product line currently includes five self-service checkout models.

“Demand for self-service checkouts in Russia continues to grow. Our new production facilities at the Pechatniki site of Technopolis Moscow SEZ allow us to meet this demand. In the near future, we also plan to scale up production of the company’s flagship products — Russian ATMs by SAGA with cash recycling options,” said Andrey Zholobov, CEO of the enterprise.

The company received Technopolis Moscow SEZ resident status last year.

“This status allows companies to save on taxes and reinvest the funds into the development of existing projects, creation of new ones, expansion and localization of production, increasing output and creating jobs,” said Gennady Dyogtev, General Director of Technopolis Moscow SEZ.
