Around 3,500 Tourists Visited the Technopolis Moscow SEZ in 2024 In 2024, nearly 3,500 people took part in guided tours of high-tech enterprises at Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ), marking a 14% increase compared to 2023, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov reported.
“Following Mayor Sergei Sobyanin’s instructions, we continue to develop industrial tourism. Since 2020, our TechnoTourism project has been giving Muscovites and visitors a chance to see modern Moscow SEZ facilities up close. Last year alone, 150 tours were held at high-tech production sites specializing in advanced materials, microelectronics, robotics, and other innovative products, attracting around 3,500 participants. Over the past five years, more than 10,000 people have joined the project,” said Maxim Liksutov.
Visitors come not only from Moscow but also from other Russian regions. In 2024, the tours drew guests from 25 cities, including St. Petersburg, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Ulyanovsk, Norilsk, Chita, Vladivostok, and Khanty-Mansiysk.
The project also attracts international guests. Last year, the largest numbers of foreign visitors came from India, Iran, and China.
“There’s growing interest in techno-excursions among school and university students. In 2024, 2,700 high school students visited SEZ resident companies — 10% more than in 2023. Students are particularly keen on companies in microelectronics, radioelectronics, photonics, quantum technologies, and IT,” said Anatoly Garbuzov, Moscow Government Minister and Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.
SEZ resident enterprises also host tours as part of the Discover #Mosprom educational project. Some excursions are included in the annual Moscow Stories initiative, which provides programs for children with disabilities.
The TechnoTourism project now features the TechnoCooperation program, which allows companies within the SEZ to visit each other’s facilities throughout the year, strengthening professional ties.
“During cross-visits, Technopolis Moscow residents learn more about their colleagues’ products, equipment, and production processes. They also discuss technology and potential collaborations. In 2024, the program included companies working in advanced materials, microelectronics, robotics, and other high-tech fields. This initiative helps strengthen cooperation within the SEZ,” said Gennady Dyogtev, CEO of Technopolis Moscow SEZ.
