Technopolis Moscow SEZ Offers Internship and Training Programs for University and College Students.
Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ) offers internship and practical training programs for university and college students. These programs allow students to gain firsthand experience of industrial production in Moscow-based companies and apply their knowledge in practice, while companies benefit from attracting young talent.
Moscow, the largest scientific and industrial hub in Russia with a well-developed industrial sector, is home to over 4,500 enterprises across various industries. Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry, Maxim Liksutov, spoke about which of these companies offer internships and practical training opportunities for students to gain professional experience.
“Under the directive of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, the city is creating and implementing various internship programs in the industrial sector for future specialists. These programs allow students from Moscow universities and colleges to gain an inside view of production processes and apply their knowledge in practice, while companies attract young professionals. For example, the Technopolis Moscow SEZ has been running the ‘Tech Internship’ project for over two years, through which students acquire key skills and competencies. Last year, participation increased by 50%, exceeding 750 students,” said Maxim Liksutov.
Technopolis Moscow SEZ brings together nearly 60 high-tech enterprises. Its educational ecosystem includes the flagship practical training center for Moscow colleges in Rudnevo, the basic department of the Moscow State Educational Complex at the Pechatniki site, and the Zelenograd College of Electronics and Informatics at the National Research University “Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology.”
“The highest demand for interns is observed at the enterprises on the Zelenograd sites of Technopolis Moscow SEZ. These include manufacturers of chips, integrated circuits, and pharmaceuticals. At the Rudnevo site, students gain experience at factories producing drones and their components — lithium-ion batteries, electronics, single-board computers, and peripheral devices. At the Pechatniki site, professional educational institutions actively collaborate with manufacturers of 3D scanners, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and electromechanical equipment,” said Anatoly Garbuzov, Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.
Targeted Education
Through the targeted program of the M.V. Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center, more than 500 students are currently enrolled at universities, with the possibility of future employment at the enterprise. The company has also successfully implemented a joint project with Moscow State Technological University (MSTU) “STANKIN” to train employees on a state-funded basis without interrupting production: 11 participants have completed the program, while 18 are continuing their studies. Thanks to expanded collaboration with colleges, 87 graduates joined the enterprise in 2024.
