Over 10,500 Visitors Enjoy Free Ice Rink in Pechatniki
At the end of 2024, a free ice rink opened at the Pechatniki site of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ), welcoming employees of local enterprises, Muscovites, and city guests. Since its opening, the rink has been visited by more than 10,500 people, reported Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
Rink visitors can also participate in free beginner masterclasses, held every Friday by professional athletes.
“During the operation of the techno-rink, experienced figure skaters have conducted five training sessions, with over 160 participants. The facility is fully equipped to ensure a comfortable experience for rink visitors, including rental points for equipment and skate sharpening, as well as protective gear. For children, a ‘figure skating helper’—a mobile figure in the shape of an animal or cartoon character—can be rented free of charge,” said Anatoly Garbuzov, Moscow Government Minister and Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.
“The ice arena has helped raise awareness of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ among Moscow residents. According to our estimates, about 60% of rink visitors come from nearby districts,” noted Gennady Degtev, Director General of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ.
The rink operates daily from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., with each free session lasting 1.5 hours. Rink visitors must complete accreditation on the official website to access the rink.
