During the entire period of their activity, residents of the special economic zone Technopolis Moscow have registered 175 patents for useful models and inventions. Almost 70% of them are in the field of electronics and high technology as informed by Vladimir Efimov, Vice-Mayor of Moscow for Economic policy and Land-property affairs. An invention patent protects intellectual rights to the method of invention and the final product itself. The discovery is supposed to be an inventive step, which means it must not be obvious to a specialist from a particular industry. The model patent protects the rights to the device itself. According to the law, patents for useful inventions are valid for 20 years, and for utility models – ten years. “High-tech enterprises of the Moscow special economic zone are engaged not only in the production of innovative products, but also in science-intensive developments necessary for the development of the city's industry. Today 20 companies of Technopolis have 175 patents, the overwhelming majority of them are for useful inventions, patents for useful models make up a tenth of the total number - about 20 pieces. On average, Technopolis residents register from 10 to 20 patents annually. Among the licensors are manufacturers and developers of microelectronics, composites, optical solutions, orthopedic footwear, energy efficient technologies and medicine”, said the Vice-Mayor. Among the residents’ inventions are devices for detecting moving objects, various methods of manufacturing electronic elements and circuits, objects for calibrating microscopes, protected computers, new types of structures for unmanned aerial vehicles and other developments. Most of the patents are registered with the company Micron and the Research Institute of Molecular Electronics - 52 and 35 correspondingly. “The overwhelming majority of patents were obtained by high-tech manufacturers of SEZ Technopolis Moscow in 2018 and 2019 - 19 patents each. Among them are useful models - a combined current and voltage transformer, which is used in the production of the Swiss company Condis SA, as well as an element of temporary road surface, which is already used in many regions of Russia. In 2020, two manufacturers of composites and air disinfection systems in train and subway cars became licensors, who received three patents for models of a pipeline support, an ultraviolet irradiator and a bactericidal lamp stabilizer”, pointed out Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow. Three residents of SEZ Technopolis Moscow have three know-hows registered since 2013. These are solutions to improve the reliability of bipolar transistors, new methods of processing polymers and a sample of the cell scaffold to accelerate tissue regeneration. Unlike a patent, know-how is protected by the trade secret regime and has no validity period. ---------------------- Press service of the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" Phone: +7 916 516-15-46 Mail: pr@technomoscow.ru [ mailto:pr@technomoscow.ru ] Subscribe to the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" in social networks, follow the main news of the SEZ in telegram-channel [ https://t.me/technopolismoscow ] and receive all the most important news delivered to your mail in our weekly newsletter [ http://events.technomoscow.ru/subscribe/?utm_source=site_technomoscow ] .
