The Moscow company Medplant, one of the leaders in the production of medical equipment in Russia, has doubled the production of tourniquet-type medical tourniquets thanks to its participation in the national project Productivity of Labor. This was reported by the Department of Economic Policy and Development of Moscow. Within three months, the company's employees, together with the experts of the regional center of Moscow competence (ANO Mosstrategy) analyzed the production process at the pilot production line and eliminated the identified problems using lean production tools. Thus, the company implemented a system of efficient organization of workplaces, introduced production analysis and standards of work performance. This allowed reducing the time wasted by assemblers searching for the necessary tools and components by 50 percent. Besides, they reduced the quantity of semifinished products to be handed over at different stages of production, which allowed diminishing the amount of defects by almost 90%. As a result, the company completed the first stage of implementation of the national project ahead of schedule, achieving its targets in three months instead of six. The production time of medical harnesses was reduced by 53 percent - from 56 to 26 hours, and the amount of products manufactured increased by 100 percent - from 250 to 500 pieces per person per shift. In addition, 13 employees of the plant have been trained in lean production methods and two internal trainers have been trained. In the near future lean production tools, successfully implemented in the pilot stream, will be used in other areas of the plant. In particular, the company intends to optimize the manufacturing processes of medical kits for ambulance doctors. Participation in the national project will allow the company to increase labor productivity by at least five percent annually over the next three years. The plant is a resident of the special economic zone (SEZ) Technopolis Moscow, it produces innovative and import-substituting products. The company manufactures products for equipping emergency medical services and disaster medicine, emergency services, as well as agencies that are required to provide first aid. The National Project Productivity is a measure of state support of business, which allows increasing the volume of output and reducing production costs without additional costs. In Moscow the National Project has been implemented since the beginning of 2022. By the end of 2024, 491 companies will be able to take part in it. Since 2022 the implementation of the national project in the capital is engaged in the Moscow regional center of competence (ANO Mosstrategy), subordinate to the Department of Economic Policy and Development of the city. Applications for participation are accepted on the website of the operator of the national project in Russia with the obligatory indication of the region (the city of Moscow). ________________________________________ Press service of the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" Phone: +7 916 516-15-46 Mail: pr@technomoscow.ru [ mailto:pr@technomoscow.ru ] Subscribe to the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" in social networks, follow the main news of the SEZ in telegram-channel [ https://t.me/technopolismoscow ]  and receive all the most important news delivered to your mail in our weekly newsletter [ http://events.technomoscow.ru/subscribe/?utm_source=site_technomoscow ] .
