Special Economic Zones (SEZ) — one of the largest projects of the Russian Federation aimed at attracting direct investment into priority types of economic activities.

Advantages of SEZ

All OEZ sites are equipped with completely new and modern infrastructure. Such an industrial zone offers businesses a range of competitive advantages for implementing innovative projects, including production localization in Russia and entry into the global market, including:

Minimal administrative barriers.
Tax benefits and customs preferences.
Reduced prices for land rental and purchase.
Assistance in implementing an investment project at its initial development stage, as well as further support from SEZ managing companies.

Goal of Creation

SEZs are created for the development of manufacturing and high-tech industries, the development and commercialization of new technologies, as well as for the production of unique types of products.

4 Types of SEZ

The activities of SEZs in the Russian Federation are regulated by the Federal Law of July 22, 2005, No. 116-FZ ‘On Special Economic Zones in the Russian Federation’. There are four types: industrial-production, technopark, tourist-recreational, and port. According to the Law, SEZs are created for 49 years, and their residents are not allowed to have branches and representative offices outside the territory of the SEZ.

2025

The construction of the LICK at the "Rudnevo" site has been completed.

The commissioning of the Moscow Photonics Center and the shared-use center at the "Alabushevo" site.

2024

The SEZ area has reached 280 hectares due to the inclusion of the territory of Building No. 11 at the Pechatniki site.

The number of residents of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ has exceeded 100 enterprises.

Three buildings of the Alabushevo Capital industrial technopark, built with the help of private investments (Stage I), were put into operation at the Alabushevo site.

2023

Opening of the children's family center
at the Alabushevo site.

Rudnevo has become the sixth site of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ.
The SEZ area has increased to 260 hectares.

The Rudnevo site was visited by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The inclusion of two land plots with an area of 1.87 and 14.5 hectares located on the territory of IP Rudnevo within the boundaries of the SEZ.

The total area of the SEZ exceeds 275 hectares.

2022

16 buildings of the first stage of the industrial park of the Rudnevo site have been commissioned.

The construction of the first building of the Innovative Electronics Center has been completed
at the MIET site.

Technopolis Moscow SEZ has become the operator of two integrated territory projects.
The ESG model has been implemented.

The construction of two more innovative laboratory and industrial buildings at the Alabushevo site has started.

Clusters of electric vehicles and photonics have been created with the participation of SEZ residents.

2021

The Rudnevo site granted the status of an industrial park.

2020

Commissioning of the innovation-laboratory-industrial buildings and parking for 900 cars.

Accession of 15 hectares land parcel to the
Alabushevo site.

2019

The Alabushevo site improvement.

2018

Official name Technopolis "Moscow" In Relation To Special Economic Zone Of The Tecnology-Innovative Type transferred to theTreasury of Moscow city.

2017

The Angstrem and the Technopolis sites included into the SEZ boundaries.

2016

Transfer of SEZ managing competence to the Government of Moscow.

Commissioning of the first resident of IMT Company at the Alabushevo site.

2015

MICRON site included in SEZ boundary.

2007

The beginning of SEZ infrastructure facilities constructing including Customs and ABC at the Alabushevo site.

2006

The Alabushevo and MIET sites included into the SEZ boundaries.

First resident is JSC ZITS.

2005

Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation
on the creation of a special economic zone of a technical and innovative type
on the territory of the city of Moscow.
