The investments volume of the companies at the special economic zone Technopolis Moscow into the capital’s high-tech industries in the first half of 2021 amounted to more than 11.5 billion rubles, which is 3.6 times more than in the same period last year, when the volume of investments amounted to more than 3.2 billion rubles as informed by Vladimir Efimov, Vice-Mayor of Moscow for Economic policy and Land-property affairs. “In the first six months of 2021, residents of SEZ Technopolis Moscow invested over 11.5 billion rubles in the development of the capital's economy. This is 3.6 times more than the indicator of the same period last year with more than 3.2 billion rubles invested in the development of high-tech industries, as well as 1.7 times more than the total investments of residents for the entire 2019, which amounted to 6.6 billion rubles. In total, over 15 years of operation of the Moscow SEZ, residents' investments exceeded 49 billion rubles”, said the Vice-Mayor. Companies invest in the development and expansion of production, modernization of equipment, inventions. New industries ensure taxes and jobs for the city. For example, at the end of last year alone residents created about 1.3 thousand jobs, while over the entire period of SEZ operation since 2006 - more than 7 thousand. Manufacturers of medicines, medical devices and equipment showed the largest amount of investments in the first half of this year. “Investments by manufacturers of medicines, medical devices and equipment for the six months of 2021 amounted to more than 10 billion rubles. On the territory of SEZ Technopolis Moscow, enterprises are improving their production sites for drugs against cancer, neuropsychiatric disorders, cardiac disorders, products for ostomy patients, medical and disinfection equipment”, said Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow. The TOP-3 in terms of investments in the first half of this year also includes microelectronics cluster. These are manufacturers of chips, microcircuits, semiconductor products, which have invested almost 730 million rubles. In addition, high-tech industries have invested more than 280 million rubles, which are engaged, in particular, in the production of inspection equipment, 3D printing, and the creation of educational complexes for the education system.
