The Moscow-based company Special Design and Technological Bureau of Applied Robotics has developed a multifunctional amphibious robot that can be used for reconnaissance and emergency response at various flooded facilities, nuclear power plants and mines. The company's production is localised in the Special Economic Zone Technopolis Moscow. This was reported by Vladislav Ovchinsky, the head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, which is part of the complex of economic policy and property and land relations of the capital. In Moscow there are about 200 enterprises in the mechanical engineering industry, which, among other things, produce industrial and service robots, as well as robotic systems. Industrialists offer advanced solutions capable of replacing humans in heavy and dangerous industries. For example, the company Special Design and Technological Bureau of Applied Robotics, which has localised its production in the SEZ Technopolis Moscow, has developed an amphibious robotic complex for clearing flooded premises. Now the company has more than 20 models of robots of different classes and purposes, which can work remotely under human control in hazardous conditions, said Vladislav Ovchinsky. The complex is used on land and underwater. The operator remotely controls the robot through a remote control panel, and monitors the execution of the work with the help of a video system. The development has already been successfully tested in salt water and at high doses of radiation. It can work in water depths of up to 4 metres and can lift and carry loads of up to 25kg underwater. On land, it can be used to remove debris after an earthquake, for reconnaissance, rescue and explosive ordnance disposal. The complex consists of a mobile robot - a four-caterpillar chassis with a manipulator, various equipment and a remote control station. A land-based mobile robotic complex developed by SKTB PR in 2018 was taken as a prototype. The upgrading of the existing design allowed new challenges to be met. SKTB PR has been operating in SEZ Technopolis Moscow since 2013 and manufactures multifunctional robotic complexes and special purpose systems for the nuclear industry, security agencies and the Emergencies Ministry. The equipment developed by the company has been implemented at a number of nuclear power plants, in particular, it repairs spent nuclear fuel pools of a new type at NPPs, said Gennady Degtev, CEO of Technopolis Moscow SEZ. According to the developer, the multifunctional amphibious robot has no analogues in the world. According to the terms of reference, we had to develop a robot with a manipulator capable of carrying out visual reconnaissance on land and in water, descend to a depth of 3.5 metres down ruined stairwells, overcome rubble, clear passages, grab and transport cargo up to 20 kg. During tests, the robot demonstrated compliance with all declared requirements in terms of technical and functional characteristics. In addition, it can successfully perform reconnaissance and rescue operations in mines, including flooded ones, as well as operations under the debris caused by earthquakes, sums up Ilya Laverichev, Deputy Director General of the SKTB PR. Synopsis: Special Economic Zone Technopolis Moscow is a territory with a special legal status, which has a preferential regime of entrepreneurial activity for investors. The sites Alabushevo and MIET joined its borders in 2006, Mikron - in 2015, Angstrem and Pechatniki - in 2017. The authority to manage the special economic zone was transferred to the Moscow City Government in 2016. Resident status in SEZ Technopolis Moscow allows companies to receive significant benefits. Residents are exempt from property, transport and land taxes for 10 years. The profit tax rate for such companies is just two per cent. Lease concessions are also available for land plots allocated for construction of production facilities, and upon completion, the land plot can be purchased for one percent of its cadastral value.
