Investments to upgrade the data center will be made by OXYGEN company, which this year received the status of a resident of the special economic zone (SEZ) Technopolis Moscow. With the resident’s benefits and new opportunities, the company plans to launch a new computer room, allocating about 550 million rubles for development until 2024 as informed by Vladimir Efimov, Vice-Mayor of Moscow for Economic policy and Land-property affairs. “The company has been operating in the special economic zone of Moscow since 2010. After obtaining the status of a resident, the company will start expanding the capacity of the data center. The volume of investments in the site in Pechatniki by 2024 will amount to about 550 million rubles, of which almost 390 million rubles will be invested in equipment. As a result, the capacity of the data center is planned to be increased by 40%”, Vladimir Efimov said. “At the moment, the OXYGEN data processing center (DPC) is located on an area of 2.7 thousand square meters. “In 2024, it will increase to more than 4 thousand square meters and will include an industrial complex, laboratory and administrative premises. The company will also increase the number of racks for server hardware, storage and processing of data arrays”, pointed out Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow. As Pavel Kulakov, founder and CEO of the company underlined, key customers of the data center include both backbone enterprises of the Russian economy and large international companies “Such companies impose stringent requirements on ensuring the security of data storage and processing; the key condition is to guarantee the continuity of operations for many years to come. The status of a resident of a special economic zone will allow us to provide customers with such a guarantee”, he added. In total, there are five data processing centers of various companies in the special economic zone Technopolis Moscow. “Two data centers were opened at Zelenograd site "Alabushevo", three more are located in Pechatniki. Data centers support the operation of microelectronic enterprises, cloud providers and public sector companies, providing the infrastructure of the modern digital economy.
