The new resident of SEZ Technopolis Moscow, the Legoplast company, has completed commissioning work at its enterprise and successfully released a trial batch of plastic pallets that can replace foreign analogues. This was announced by the Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, Vladislav Ovchinsky. «Recently, another modern enterprise, Legoplast, received the status of a resident of the special economic zone of the capital. The company's capacities allow it to produce more than 400 thousand plastic pallets per year, which will reduce the share of such foreign products in the food, transport and warehouse industries, in the field of cargo transportation and storage. High–density low-pressure polyethylene, from which pallets are made, is also fully produced in Russia,» Vladislav Ovchinsky said. Domestic industrial enterprises, wholesale bases, warehouse complexes, logistics centers, shops and marketplaces will become consumers of the products of the new high-tech production. Some forms of Legoplast pallets are unique and are objects of patent and license protection. «The company has invested more than 200 million rubles in new production. About 50 workplaces will be created at the enterprise. Legoplast rents premises with an area of 1.1 thousand square meters in the SEZ. Thanks to the modern infrastructure of the Printers site, the company was able to focus on the production process and start producing products strictly on schedule,» said Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow. The service life of plastic pallets can exceed 10 years. Such products are not subject to atmospheric influences, they can be used at temperatures from -40 to +60 degrees Celsius. «Wooden pallets are short-lived: they require constant repair, sometimes fungus, mold and protruding nails spoil the goods. At the same time, the plastic is not harmed by insects and high humidity, it is not susceptible to rotting. This is a material with which there are no difficulties during export: neither quarantine certificates nor phyto-processing are required for plastic pallets. One such pallet weighs significantly less than its wood counterpart, does not absorb moisture when stored outdoors. This makes it possible to significantly facilitate loading and unloading operations, reduce the cost of transportation,» explained Vladimir Shtylev, General Director of Legoplast. The company's products are not only in demand on the market, but also environmentally friendly. Decommissioned old or broken pallets can be recycled into the same new unit, which significantly reduces the burden on the environment. Due to the status of a resident of SEZ Technopolis Moscow, Legoplast receives support from the city. The company is exempt from paying land, property and transport taxes, the income tax rate for it has been reduced to two percent.
