Electric Vehicles Manufacturing Rus (EVM) became a resident of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Technopolis Moscow and is preparing to launch a production plant for innovative electric cargo vehicles. This was announced by Vladimir Efimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations. In August, the company and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation signed a Special Investment Contract (SPIC). Under its terms, the manufacturer undertakes to implement the investment project within four years and six months, and the state undertakes to ensure its business stability. As a platform for the location of the new plant EVM chose the special economic zone Technopolis Moscow the residents of which are exempted from property, transport and land taxes, customs duties. In addition, the profit tax rate for such enterprises is only two percent. «The company invested more than 300 million roubles in the development of a Russian electric truck. In the capital's special economic zone, the enterprise was provided with ready premises and created all the conditions for implementing a successful financial development model. Now the plant is at the final stage of preparation for launch. The company has already implemented about 30 of its own innovative solutions in production,» – said Vladimir Efimov. New solutions concern power electronics, control systems, battery design and other engineering systems. The electric cargo vehicle is designed on the basis of the UAZ Profi chassis and has a load capacity of up to one ton. The vehicle can travel up to 300 kilometers on a single charge. The vehicle is focused on the segment of retail, logistics, delivery, housing and public utilities and other city needs. It is environmentally friendly, does not pollute the environment and saves more than 10 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year compared to a similar commercial vehicle with an internal combustion engine. «The company will produce onboard electronics and electric motors, increasing localization to almost 100 percent. Internal developments allowed the company to stop purchasing European equipment and design a full-cycle production with minimal dependence on third-party suppliers,» – said Vladislav Ovchinsky, head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy. After the launch of the plant SEZ Technopolis Moscow can become one of the centers of creation of domestic electric transport, as the development of the enterprise is applicable to the industry of the entire country. «Now the installation of equipment is underway at the plant. They are installing milling machines, laser welding equipment, robotic complexes and other necessary equipment.
