Technopolis Moscow SEZ resident increased production of metal-cutting tools by 78 per cent

Technopolis Moscow SEZ resident Microbor has significantly expanded its product range and developed new product lines. Last year, it increased the production of a number of products by 78%. This was reported by Vladislav Ovchinsky, the Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, which is part of the Complex of Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations of the capital. Microbor actively increases the production capacities in order to provide the domestic market with superhard composite materials and tools of its own development. In 2022, the company has significantly expanded its product range. Today the company strives to meet the growing needs of the domestic market for metal-cutting tools and to replace large foreign manufacturers. Last year, for example, the company increased the output of a number of products by 78% and made almost 1.9 thousand shipments of orders to customers. With the expansion of production, the company created additional 30 jobs, and now the workforce consists of over 80 highly skilled professionals, said Vladyslav Ovchinsky. He added that in general the company's shipments increased 3.5 times. At the same time, revenues have almost tripled compared to 2021. In a short time, the company has developed and introduced five new grades of composites for machining superhard materials. In the near future a new production zone will be created on the territory of SEZ Technopolis Moscow where the enterprise will localize the technology of grinding of carbide plates that will allow increasing the production volumes of metal-cutting tools, - informed Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Moscow. The company now has more than nine thousand product names in its product range, closing the main areas in metalworking. The company provides over 650 factories in Russia and abroad with metal-cutting tools as well as engages in educational activities and helps dealers, enterprises, students and all interested to increase knowledge in the sphere of superhard composite materials and metal-cutting tools, - summarized Pavel Reshetov, CEO of the company. Resident status of SEZ Technopolis Moscow allows companies to receive significant benefits. Such companies are exempt from property, transport and land taxes for 10 years. The profit tax rate for them is just two per cent.
