Walking shoes made of recycled plastic were launched in mass production by Orthomoda, a resident of SEZ Technopolis Moscow. The shoes have a special design and orthopaedic insole, which help to support and correct the anatomy of the foot. This was announced by Vladislav Ovchinsky, head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, which is part of the capital's Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations Complex. There are more than 200 light industry companies operating in Moscow, producing clothes, footwear, hats, various non-woven materials. In 2022, they more than quadrupled their output compared to 2021. Metropolitan industrialists pay special attention to care for the environment, apply advanced technologies in production, and manufacture environmentally friendly products from recycled materials. For example, in December 2022 specialists of the company producing specialised shoes and clothes for people with disabilities developed a line of shoes made of recycled plastic. The company has already entered batch production and plans to produce more than 20,000 pairs of eco-shoes annually. The first batches have already arrived in shops across the country, explained Vladyslav Ovchinsky. The new product is designed for people with large feet, as well as for comfortable footwear. Shoes with modern design and unique author's prints have special design, which allows easy shoeing and then fixing the shoes on the foot. The orthopaedic insole corrects the anatomy of the foot and, if desired, can be replaced with an individual orthopaedic insole made of special antibacterial materials. The upper is made of felt, made of recycled plastic, with modern patterns and faux fur trim. At least 14 plastic bottles are used to make each pair of eco-shoes. The company's approach to producing a new type of product is in line with the principles of sustainable development and the stages of building a green economy. Social business can help not only people with disabilities, but also the planet, CEO Natalya Volkova is convinced. The entire product line of the resident of the capital's special economic zone has been developed as part of its own scientific research, including with the assistance of the country's leading medical research institutes. The products are available not only to Muscovites, but also to residents of Russian regions. On the territory of SEZ Technopolis Moscow the company produces about 80 thousand pairs of shoes a year, of which 30 thousand are personalized products created according to individual measurements and medical purposes. The company is developing a remote service with elements of telemedicine to serve residents in the regions. The company employs 15 orthopaedic specialists. Every year, the company invests more than 10% of its working capital in R&D," said Gennady Degtev, General Director of Technopolis Moscow SEZ. Resident status in Technopolis Moscow SEZ allows companies to receive significant benefits. Such companies are exempt from property, transport and land taxes for 10 years. The profit tax rate for them is just two per cent. There are also benefits on the lease of land allocated for the construction of the enterprise, and upon its completion, there is an opportunity to buy back the plot for one per cent of the cadastral value. ________________________________________ Press service of the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" Phone: +7 916 516-15-46 Mail: pr@technomoscow.ru [ mailto:pr@technomoscow.ru ] Subscribe to the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" in social networks, follow the main news of the SEZ in telegram-channel [ https://t.me/technopolismoscow ]  and receive all the most important news delivered to your mail in our weekly newsletter [ http://events.technomoscow.ru/subscribe/?utm_source=site_technomoscow ] .
