The special economic zone Technopolis Moscow took first place among 117 sites in the V Rating of investment attractiveness of Russian industrial parks and special economic zones of the Analytical Center «Expert» Vladimir Efimov, Vice-Mayor of Moscow for Economic policy and Land property affairs, has announced. “By the end of 2020, the special economic zone of Moscow became the first in the rating among 117 sites. In 2019, it managed to enter the top five, but dynamic development and constant work allowed her to take a leading position. Experts highly appreciated the investment attractiveness of the SEZ. In 2020, 22 high-tech enterprises received the status of a Technopolis Moscow resident. Four of them will focus on technical and innovative activities, and the rest - on industrial and production. In the next 10 years, new residents are planning to invest 17.6 billion rubles in their production“, said Vice-Mayor. Experts assessed the investment attractiveness of industrial parks and economic zones be the key indicators: their location, the cost of resources, the benefits offered, services and management, as well as work with residents. “In the capital's SEZ, we create all the necessary conditions for work and development of high-tech industries. The anchor industries of the special economic zone include pharmaceuticals, microelectronics, medicine, information technology and modern materials. Almost everything is produced here: from veterinary drugs to sapper robots and inspection equipment. In nine months of 2020, SEZ residents produced a quarter more products than last year, for a total amount of 12.5 billion rubles”, said Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow. Terms and services offered in the special economic zone help the technology business to develop successfully, which is reflected in the high ratings. “Companies in SEZ automatically get access to the personal account system, use a convenient and well-developed infrastructure and have the opportunity to communicate directly with the capital's authorities. Technopolis Moscow has 19 services out of 21 analysed by the authors of the rating, it demonstrates the high level of customer focus. Substantial tax benefits are provided for SEZ resident enterprises. Thus, they are relieved from paying taxes on land, property and transport, they have a reduced tax rate. Furthermore, they get access to duty-free imports”, said Gennady Degtev. The rating of the investment attractiveness of industrial parks and special economic zones has been published annually by the Expert magazine since 2017. The sites are evaluated according to such criteria as the level of development of services, the level of management development and openness to potential investors and residents, the cost of basic resources, the location of the site and the benefits offered. At the end of 2018, SEZ Technopolis Moscow was only 11th in the ranking and over the past two years it has significantly improved its position.
