SEZ TECHNOPOLIS MOSCOW WILL CREATE ITS OWN ESG STRATEGY

The SEZ Technopolis Moscow and the Association of Clusters, Technoparks and Special Economic Zones of Russia will strengthen the work on the implementation of ESG standards – environmental, social and corporate responsibility. The launch of the SEZ Technopolis Moscow model aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2022. Gennady Degtev, CEO of the SEZ Technopolis Moscow, announced this. "Sustainable development remains one of the important components of the strategy of the special economic zone and the leading high-tech enterprises of Moscow. In cooperation with the Association of Clusters, Technoparks and SEZ of Russia we are implementing a roadmap for the implementation of the principles of environmentally friendly and responsible development by the end of this year, including the launch of the ESG model of the SEZ of Moscow to strengthen it," said Gennady Degtev. The achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals contributes to the creation of favorable living conditions, the development of the population, and the increase in the investment potential of sites that implement this model. "Nowadays in Russia, the absolute majority of territories with preferential treatment are trying to carry out work related to the implementation of the principles of sustainable development. Three regions can be named among the leaders – Moscow, the Republic of Bashkortostan, St. Petersburg, which have already moved from theoretical research to practical actions. One of the examples of such activity is the Moscow SEZ," said Andrey Shpilenko, Director of the AKIT of the Russian Federation. The Moscow SEZ and the AKIT of the Russian Federation jointly drew up a roadmap. In this case, on the territory of SEZ Technopolis Moscow will be held ESG-audit of the site and the report will be made with detailed information on the activities of Technopolis and the development strategy until 2030. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Government to consider the issue of state aid for investment projects that meet the ESG criteria by the end of 2022.
